Role Overview: Seeking a strategic Communications Director to lead the China communications team in building and protecting the business unit’s corporate reputation. The role will develop and execute long-term communication strategies to position the business unit as a leader in its industry, ensuring alignment with corporate philosophy, cultural norms, and regulatory requirements. Reporting to the China GM and serving as a key member of the leadership team, the Director will oversee internal communication, public relations, government affairs, crisis management, reputation strategy, scientific affairs, and stakeholder engagement. Job Requirements: 1. Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or related field; 2. 15+ years of experience in communications or public affairs, with a proven track record in government relations; 3. 5+ years of people management experience, leading diverse teams of functional experts; 4. Core competencies: reputation management, media strategy, crisis response, government engagement, internal communications; 5. Industry knowledge: familiarity with nutrition, health care, or related sectors; 6. Excellent verbal/written communication and presentation skills; fluent in English; 7. Ability to build trust and influence internal/external stakeholders in a multinational environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Drive initiatives to enhance corporate reputation and market visibility in China; 2. Engage diverse stakeholders: government/regulators, NGOs, industry associations, academia, and consumers; 3. Develop and execute communications, public relations, CSR, and scientific affairs strategies aligned with global policies and local needs; 4. Support the business unit’s digital commerce strategy through stakeholder and government engagement; 5. Lead crisis management efforts, escalating via CALM processes and representing China on global crisis teams; 6. Anticipate and mitigate reputational risks, advising leadership on strategic opportunities; 7. Align communication strategies with corporate principles while advocating for local insights in policy development; 8. Cultivate key opinion leaders and drive scientific/nutrition education programs to support business growth; 9. Lead the China communications team, setting priorities, driving performance, and modeling collaborative behaviors; 10. Mentor and develop team members, ensuring career growth and succession planning; 11. Foster an inclusive, diverse team culture and contribute to the business unit’s health and engagement goals; 12. Build cross-functional partnerships with global/regional communications teams and internal stakeholders.
